Celtic Blessing

Celtic Blessing or Irish Blessing

This is a traditional hymn based on the the ancient blessing bestowed upon friends and strangers alike down through the centuries.
The Blessing goes as follows:

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand

or in Irish:

Go n-eirigh an bóthar leat
Go mbéadh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl
Go lonraíodh an ghrían go te ar d'aghaidh
Go dtitfeadh an bháisteach go bog ar do ghoirt
Agus go dtí go mbúailimís le chéile arís
Go gcoinnófeadh Dia i mbos A láimhe thú
